I’m new to yoga and not flexible. Where do I start?
Being flexible in your mind will open you up to the possibilities you can create within yourself and your body. Breathing, moving and compassion for where you are right now is all you need. Let go of your fears, allow the process to unfold gradually and you will find a physical and mental “letting go.” Range of motion, strength and balance will increase over time with a consistent practice. A variety of classes are offered from gentle to power. We will be happy to assist you with any questions you may have regarding a particular class.
How often should I practice?
Begin your practice by setting a goal of 10-15 classes over a 30-day period. Consistency is the key for optimal results. A regular practice 2-3 times a week will result in transformation. Show up on your mat 4-6 times per week for life changing results!
What do I wear?
Come to class dressed comfortable. In heated classes, 100% cotton clothing may soak up sweat and become uncomfortable. Extremely loose fitting clothing may not be the most practical for some poses in class. Plan to be barefoot. Socks may cause you to slip on your mat. Plus, being barefoot is much more fun than wearing shoes!
What do I bring?
Bring a mat, optional towel and bottle of water. If this is your first class and you do not have a mat or towel we will provide them for you. Water is available but you need to bring hour own refillable bottle.
Can I eat before class?
A light snack is recommended 1-2 hours prior to class. Pre-class snack recommendations include yogurt, toast, peanut butter, fruit or an energy bar. It is always a good idea to hydrate and drink plenty of water before class.
Will the studio be heated?
Please check class description for heated and non-heated classes. The heat in the studio will vary with each class.
